Sylvester Thompson, a 36-year-old fugitive who escaped custody in Galveston County, has been recaptured in Santa Fe, Texas. Authorities found him still in handcuffs as a passenger in a vehicle.
Sylvester Thompson, who is 36 years old, was taken back into custody by the Galveston County Sheriff's Office after he evaded capture while being escorted to jail.
Thompson was initially taken into prison by the authorities for fleeing arrest; nevertheless, he was capable of escaping while he was still restrained by handcuffs. A manhunt was initiated by law authorities, with the primary focus being on the region surrounding the Gulf Freeway and FM 519.
Thompson was located by deputies in Santa Fe, Texas, with the time being just after noon. The handcuffs that he was wearing were still on him when he was discovered in a car as a passenger.
He is currently facing many allegations, including assault on a peace officer, escape from detention, and attempting to remove a weapon from law enforcement. Thompson is currently being held in custody.
Officials have not disclosed any information regarding how Thompson was able to flee.
