The man was reported missing when he was in Galveston. Meanwhile, in Reagan, Texas, Joseph Grams, who is 36 years old, was brought into custody at his residence, which is around 200 miles away from the location where he was last seen.

Grams called the Galveston Police Department on Thursday, August 15, claiming he was in danger while kayaking in the Gulf of Mexico. Grams's call was received on Thursday.

The United States Coast Guard, the Galveston Beach Patrol, and the local police were all involved in the major search operation that was initiated after he reported that he had drifted too far from the coast.

According to a representative for the Galveston Police Department, "Grams indicated that he was near 11th Street and Seawall Boulevard, but the individual was unable to make it back to shore."  The police immediately initiated an operation to look for and rescue people.

Despite the efforts, search crews could only recover Grams' empty kayak, which was full of water. This caused the authorities to dread the worst.

During the course of the search that went into Friday, a second event occurred when a victim who had drowned was discovered close to 85th Street. This fact increased the level of concern regarding Grams' safety.

The Galveston Police Department contacted the Falls County Sheriff's Office while the hunt for Grams continued. During this communication, the department learned that Grams was a wanted fugitive wanted for two felony warrants. The authorities were concerned that he might have returned to his residence in Reagan.

On Friday, law enforcement officers from Falls County and the McLennan County Sheriff's Department arrived at Grams' property to investigate a security breach. After a tense standoff that lasted for four hours, Grams was taken into arrest without incident.

Joe Lopez, the sheriff of Falls County, indicated that no issues were encountered throughout the process of apprehending him. "Having successfully resolved this situation in a safe manner is a relief."

Many town members were taken aback when they heard the news of Grams' arrest. They had initially believed that he was a victim of drowning. Maria Gonzalez, a resident of the area, expressed this sentiment: "It is shocking to think that he was hiding out while we were all worried about him." I really hope that he can obtain the assistance that he requires.

When Grams was taken into custody, he was discovered wearing nothing but his underwear, which added another layer of eccentricity to the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. He is being kept in custody as he awaits further legal action.

Inquiries have been made concerning the resources that have been allotted for search and rescue activities in the region as a result of the tragedy.

According to Galveston Police Chief Vernon Hale, this event underscores the need for improved communication and knowledge about the risks of kayaking in open seas. While we are equipped to handle emergencies, this situation highlights the need for better communication and awareness."

As the inquiry proceeds, Grams's case serves as a reminder of the significance of taking precautions to ensure one's safety when participating in activities that include water.

Residents are strongly encouraged by their community authorities to always report their plans to someone and to remain mindful of their surroundings when they are on the water.

In the meantime, the community is left to ponder the odd turn of events, which includes a search for a missing individual and an arrest of a fugitive.
