The Houston SPCA, in partnership with the Galveston County Sheriff's Office, rescued more than 800 animals from a Santa Fe pet store following the execution of an animal seizure warrant. The operation included the removal of various animals, from dogs and cats to exotic species like peacocks and tortoises.
A major animal rescue operation was carried out by the Houston SPCA in conjunction with the Galveston County Sheriff's Office. The operation involved the removal of more than 800 animals from The List Pet Store, which is located in Santa Fe, Texas. At approximately 10:30 in the morning on Thursday, an animal seizure warrant was carried out, which caused the rescue to take place.
It was discovered that the pet business, which was situated close to the 14000 block of Highway 6, was sheltering a broad range of animals in conditions that were problematic. An assortment of creatures, including dogs, cats, snakes, fish, turtles, rodents, lizards, hedgehogs, ducks, chickens, tortoises, and even peacocks, were saved from their respective habitats.
Following the emergence of complaints regarding the animals' care, the operation's objective was to relocate them to habitats that were more secure. Continued assessments of the animals' conditions are being carried out by the Houston SPCA, which will also offer the necessary medical attention to the animals. Investigators are still investigating to assess the scope of any possible infractions that may have occurred at the store.
