La Marque Detective Receives Prestigious DOJ Award for Community Policing

Detective Stephen Leacroy of the La Marque Police Department has received the esteemed Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service in Community Policing. U.S. Attorney General Merrick B. Garland awarded the honor during the seventh annual Attorney General’s Awards, which celebrate exceptional law enforcement achievements in community policing nationwide.

Leacroy was among 21 recipients chosen for the award and was one of three winners in the field operations category. The award emphasizes his outstanding contributions as a Major Case/Homicide Detective and Community Policing Officer and his continuous efforts in recruiting.
